St. Francis House in the News

St. Francis House is like a candle that illuminates the darkness. And in this economy, our light is needed more than ever. That's why we want to share some recent news stories that highlight our life-saving work. You may also want to read our newsletter, which is full of interesting, informative pieces about our programs and outreach.

WBZ NewsRadio did a lovely story about "the good people at St. Francis House" who served Christmas dinner to the homeless. We're grateful to reporter Carl Stevens, who captured the spirit of love, compassion, and generosity that filled our house on Dec. 25th, just as it does every day of the year. To hear the story, go to http://www.wbz.com/pages/9176.php and look for Christmas Family at St. Francis.

Fox 25 News also did a fabulous piece about our Christmas festivities. As reporter Diana Rocco showed, Cardinal O'Malley led a prayer service for dozens of people in our dining room, he blessed the meal, and he comforted a guest who hadn't seen his children in 10 years. Ms. Rocco also interviewed some of our volunteers and spoke with Karen LaFrazia about the economy and the fact that more people need help than ever before.  Click here to watch the story.

A few weeks ago, The Boston Herald ran a wonderful piece about our Thanksgiving Day meal and our unique ability to help people heal in body, mind, and spirit. Our thanks to the Herald and to reporter Marie Szaniszlo for spreading the word about our highly effective blend of cutting-edge programs and unconditional love. All of our guests benefit from that combination.
